Frequently asked questions

What are the system requirements?

Sapa requires macOS 26.1 Tahoe or later and an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer). The app is approximately 6.3 MB and the bundled MLX model runs entirely on-device.

How do I install Sapa?

Download the .dmg file, open it, and drag Sapa to your Applications folder. On first launch, macOS may ask you to confirm opening an app from the internet — click Open.

Does Sapa require an internet connection?

No. Sapa runs 100% offline. The local MLX model handles all prompt analysis on your machine. No data ever leaves your device.

Which AI models does Sapa work with?

Sapa improves prompts you intend to use with any LLM — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Llama, and others. The on-device model is a custom fine-tune optimised specifically for security scanning and token efficiency.

How does Sapa calculate token savings?

Sapa compares the token count of your original prompt versus the optimised version and multiplies the difference by the current pricing of popular models (Claude Opus, GPT-5, etc.) to estimate potential cost savings.

Is my prompt data private?

Yes. All prompt processing happens locally on your device. Sapa never sends your prompts or their outputs anywhere. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Does Sapa collect any usage data?

The app includes optional anonymous analytics limited to interaction events (e.g. which features you use). No prompts, no content, and no personal information are ever included. You choose whether to enable this during onboarding, and you can change your preference anytime in Settings.
